Another Day, Another Waffle

It's kind of grossing me out to have to write about food... whenever Tennessee happens, I'm really absurdly stuffed the entire time, but the show must go on. And I do have to educate you on some of the tasty reasons to visit this beautiful place.

So...

We went to Pancake Pantry yesterday morning and decided to share to minimize the full-ness we've been experiencing after every other meal... but that failed because after having to wait in the line that wrapped around the building, we ordered EVERYTHING.

We ordered the strawberry waffles and the grill cook's medley - their version of the garbage plate I usually make, with a side of chocolate chip pancakes. Yummm.

Fueled, we headed off to a tour of the Jack Daniel's Distillery, which we all totally recommend to anyone visiting! The grounds are gorgeous and the tour was great.

It's located in Lynchburg, TN a bit of a drive from Nashville, but it's well worth it. The grounds are gorgeous!

They give free tours of the distillery but there's plenty of information to read up on and things to see in the lobby while you wait for the next tour.

Our amazing tour guide Dusty, who is about as Tennessee as they come.

Pfeffer with the charcoal they use to distill the whiskey. Dusty said something or other about the whiskey filtering through 10 feet of packed charcoal.

Yerin kicking the safe that was said to have been Jack Daniel's demise - the word on the street is that he got fed up and kicked this safe, injured his toe, and eventually died from blood poisoning.

And no trip to Nashville is complete without a trip back to Loveless Cafe! We had to introduce Pfeffer to the

I haven't had fried chicken since the time I was at Loveless and this stuff is totally worth the wait.

We recommend everything - their sides are the best! But skip the key lime pie - the crust is not what you're expecting, we couldn't quite put our finger on it, but we settled on a flavor in between raisins and chocolate.

After dinner, Pfeffer and I put in some time at the pool and then we pulled ourselves together to take in some Bluegrass at Station Inn back in Nashville.

Another busy day in Tennessee!
