Perfect Porch Drink!

Happy Sunday!

So kicking off my first of many Sundays off, I scooted off to brunch with the usual drones of Sunday brunch folk and it was an awesome feeling! I will have to be careful about Sunday productivity because I'm seeing how easy it can be to stuff your face at brunch and then throw in the towel for the rest of the day…

I'm sure once the Farmer's Market is open I'll have plenty to do. :)

After a yummy brunch, I had a ton of things to do and Burgers came over and we set up a work station on the deck. Of course whenever work is involved, you've got to make sure the conditions are right, so I threw some laundry in, cleaned the kitchen, and we made some popcorn (see below) and whipped up a new signature drink of awesomeness! We're so productive.

Thanks to my hobby of streaming TV/movies/anything, I found out about a Pop Secret popcorn app that times popcorn to get the perfect pop.

Just goes to show, you never know what survival skills you can pick up from TV commercials.

But does it work!?

Absolutely. I've never seen a more beautiful bowl of popcorn. We counted 12 unpopped kernels. That has got to be a record.

Because I've been traveling to Potomac Mills this past week, I stopped by Ikea (duh) and picked up some fun things - meatballs (double duh), a super essential ice cube tray in the shape of fish, and some Elderflower concentrate, or as Ikea calls it, Saft Fläder, synonymous with GAME CHANGER.

If you've been with me for a few summers you know how much I love any drink involving citrus, bubbly, and basil. This falls into that category.

Burgers and I started with ice, added a few lemon slices and roughly torn basil leaves, smushed the life out of it, then topped it off with a splash of the elderflower syrup and filled it up with some sparkling lime mineral water (lime is all I had on hand, I'm sure lemon or plain would work too).

PERFECTION.

Like a super refreshing and sophisticated lemonade. I'm sure you could just as easily make this an alcoholic beverage. Where there is a will there is always a way.

Have a great Sunday!

GURL. Elderflower liqueur is all the rage. I never even thought of just getting the concentrate, that would probably be cheaper. Also that drink and those succulents: that's my kinda style.
