Sunday Funday

Haha. I usually hate when people say that because I usually work on Sundays!

Because Saturday night went into Sunday, we slept in SUPER late. I think I first laid eyes on a clock at 11 AM. We pulled it together and met the rest of the gang in Chinatown for dim sum at Chatham Square Restaurant, where I had to bust out some Asian-ness for the greater good.

We ate way too much, but that always happens when faced with food of this sort. Justin describes it pretty accurately - always eat as if it could be your last meal.

Good rule to live by, especially in this city. Walking around everywhere works up an appetite like no other! In desperate need of some caffeine, we decided to stroll through Chinatown after brunch and into Little Italy, where we found a great little Italian cafe to fuel up on the frothiest lattes and the richest americanos ever in the world of ever. Casey was also ready to go for dessert and we split a lobster tail - perhaps the greatest contribution the Italians ever made to the dessert world.

We stopped by The Strand to browse books and I picked up a cute little overused book on French cuisine, something we'll cover in the not-so-distant future.

Then we decided to walk to Justin's apartment and got intercepted by a few more dessert places  along the way. I say "intercepted" like we weren't the ones who made the conscious decision to stop and walk into the store. Ridiculous. But kind of not. These bakeries just lure you in and you emerge in a daze and usually with custard dripping off your chin.

Appreciating the complexity of the wonder that is the Salty Pimp from Big Gay Ice Cream.

We finally made it to Justin's where we somehow found the strength to eat again and ordered in some amazing New York City pizza from Fat Sal's. And it is true, there is no greater pizza than a NYC pizza.
