Knoxville!

The rest of the weekend just flew by! The rest of the gang arrived late Friday night and we all met up Saturday morning for a stroll around the (amazing) farmer's market, pre-brunch fries from an awesome food truck, and brunch at Cafe4 (home to one adorable and especially attentive executive chef).

We fell hard for these guys! They're so talented!

Monster Mimosas and Bloody Marys all around at brunch!

Then Tara, Yerin and I headed on over to Neyland Stadium where we witnessed an amazing game! Sorry 'bout it Gamecocks!

Our seats were awesome!

I've never seen a group of fans as passionate as these peeps! Even Redskins fans clear out immediately after the game. But Tennessee? Nope. They probably just stay in their seats and wait for the next UT game.

On the one hand, it would have been super awesome to have gone to a huge school with this much school pride... on the other hand, we were exhausted afterwards and couldn't imagine doing this regularly/having to get things done on weekends. Old age could also be a factor.

On the last day of our trip we met up at Sunspot, a beyond amazing restaurant for brunch. So amazing that I ordered an appetizer and an entree. So amazing that Jes actually ordered two entrees (and easily polished both of them off).

Their Fried Green Tomatoes are the best! There was roasted salsa, goat cheese, and bacon involved. Duh they were the best.

And my delicious entree of (bone-in!) buttermilk fried pork chop, resting on top of french toast, hash brown casserole, topped with a fried egg, and drowning in a maple chipotle glaze.

Seriously.

So delicious that Jess went ahead and got an order of it after polishing off a seriously delicious pancake breakfast. #wheninknoxville

So much happiness.

I love this place. The open kitchen, the decor, the people. I guess I could say that about all of Knoxville. The people are the greatest. The food is the greatest. The prices are the greatest.

We decided to make an annual pilgrimage to this wonderful city because when you spend 60% of your time just commenting on how awesome the city is, you've just got to come back or move here.

Currently our weakened Virginia guts have not become accustomed to the insane level of salt/sugar/fat in this type of food, so we were begging for carrots by the end of the trip, but that's the beauty of our species. I'm sure with time and practice, we'll adapt and be eating like hobbits in this town.

Until next year Knoxville!

Yummmm, re-living those delicious memories. I would love some of those amazing shrimp and grits.

Sidenote: Jess is with two 's' in this case. Not a big deal, but just wanted to let you know.

Those little baby cutie-pie boys!

That glorious porkchop is STILL all I can think about. Thank you for posting the picture of it. I'm making that the background on my computer at work.
