Day Two
On Tuesday, we had our one and only full day and started off the morning with a trip to the gym (and then the doughnut bar in the hotel that you already know about).
Once we were ready for our day, we headed down Michigan Avenue for some window shopping, to see the Bean, and to the Art Institute.
We spent some time admiring the Rothko - well, I was. Meagan didn't really get it.
Saw the Seurat
And hung out with Chairman Mao (WTSM Andy Warhol??)
Thar she blows!
We decided to be all touristy and get all up in her face.
Meagan wanted to see Wrigley Field, so we braved the L (a true Chicago experience) and found the stadium relatively easily!
This stadium was really neat! It was built back in 1914 and looks pretty small from the outside - there were lots of apartment buildings and businesses nearby with additional rooftop stadium seats.
After that, we headed back to home base to get ready for our dinner at RL, Ralph Lauren's restaurant next to the flagship store on Michigan Ave.
Dinner was wonderful, as it always is at RL. It's kind of like dining in a gentlemen's club... almost like people should be smoking cigars and drinking scotch, an old money kind of place. I got the Dover Sole and Sheppy got the Filet. We were apparently way too ridiculous to be invited into fine dining establishments like this...
And after another full day, we went back to the hotel (with plans to resurface to take a ride to the top of the Hancock Tower) but I forgot and changed into sweats in about two seconds and we all know that when the sweatpants come on, the day is officially over.
So, in true Shep and Joj form, we fell asleep to an episode of Hoarders.
CHICAGO!

LOVE CHICAGO. Don't get the appeal of a clothing designer having a restaurant though.
