Bald Head Island with the Fruitbasket Ladieeees
So, thank the LORD for limited internet access. I've been waiting to update about this amazing trip since the day we got here. Basically, Bald Head Island is the Hamptons on training wheels. It's along the southern shore of NC (near Myrtle Beach). We're staying at Elizabeth's grandparent's ridiculous beach house (although it seems more like a mansion).

With it being an island and all, we took a ferry from the mainland and drive golf carts to get around. There's a cute little store and a cute little church and some cute little light towers.

We've been here for about four days now and have gone crabbing (caught four!), spent a fraction of almost each day paying homage to ice-cold coronas/margaritas and chips and guac, and the other girls have been hard at work on a 1000 piece puzzle (which is progressing wonderfully), we've been playing tennis, and obviously spending time at the beach.
Yesterday, we went to church and it was a cute little service. We followed with brunch at the country club (gross, I know, but I've come to realize I absolutely LOVE this lifestyle). Then we went to the beach and vegetated for a few hours, played a little tennis, then drank and ate tacos = Perfect day.
The other day, we also devoted some time to gator-huntin. Along with a variety of strange looking bugs, a raccoon that wanted to hang out with us when we went crabbing, and plenty of pelicans and seagulls, there's also an alligator that resides on this island. We saw him the first night during what seemed like a monsoon, so we figured we'd try to lure him out with some left-over artichoke mozzarella sausages and turkey necks (from crabbing).
Our efforts were not very successful. A cop came around and told us we weren't allowed to be on the green. I'm sure before the week is up we will try again though. I've got tons of photos to post on the real estate here alone, but more on that later.
