Hanging with the Rev...
We packed up our picnic and peeps and took Jules' new truck out for its first tailgate...
Carol and Dianna
Sandwiches doin' their thing.
We made it! Super excited to see Al Green!
It was worth it though, our spread was the envy of every passerby. I even threw out the ol' "GEE, I HOPE OUR OTHER FRIENDS CAN FIND US ONCE THEY GET HERE. THIS IS TOO MUCH FOOD FOR FOUR PEOPLE."
Only... we had no other friends meeting us. And this food was intended for four people. :|
Alright, let's try to say the following out loud in one breath... peanuts, iced tea, cowboy pie, sandwiches, watermelon, bread, harvest salad, penne mozzarella salad, shrimp, roasted chickpeas, vegetables, salami, olives, pickles, okra, pepperoni, mozzarella and proscuitto rolls, bacon, polenta, sage cheese, hummus, white sangria, corn salad, and.... vegetarian meatballs. *GASP.
Jules made this phenom iced tea and added raspberries and blueberries to it! SO tasty!
See that bright white blob? That's Al Green!!!
Taj Mahal was the opening act and he was awesome - seventy years old and killing it! And Al was obvs phenom!
I've never seen Wolftrap so packed! Not even for the Backstreet Boys (shocking, I know.)!
I made a little playlist for your enjoyment, should you be interested in a little Taj Mahal/Al Green/things I just added on sampling... Awesome August Jams
And whip up some of Jules' iced tea recipe while you're at it! There aren't that many days left in the summer, so enjoy it while you still can!
